Discourse, of Course: Textual Analysis for Language Education
Keywords:
discourse, textual analysis, language, educationSynopsis
This book presents a structured and systematic approach to the exploration of various discourse concepts and analysis. Starting with a comprehensive overview of discourse concepts, text, co-text, and context, the book proceeds to delve into discourse analysis, textbook discourse or text, and the different aspects of discourse, some aspects of textuality, the quality of discourse or text authored by Indonesian authors that are widely used in textbooks for teaching and learning English as a foreign language in Indonesia. Hence, the writer embarked on a mission to create a comprehensive concept to textual analysis for language education, drawing on their extensive experiences and knowledge in the field.
The book was designed to provide a deeper understanding of how language works, how it can be analyzed, and how it can be effectively used to communicate meaning in different contexts. Throughout the writing process, the writer drew on their experiences as a language educator and researcher to develop practical strategies and techniques that would help readers develop their skills in textual analysis. The book covers various aspects of textual analysis, including genre analysis, discourse analysis, and multimodal analysis, with a focus on how these tools can be used in analyzing language education. By providing detailed explanations, examples, and practice exercises, the book aims to help readers develop a deeper understanding of how language is analyzed in different contexts.
